Volunteer Application Fee for High School and College:
A non-refundable application fee of $20 is charged at the time of pick up of the volunteer application. Cash, credit card or checks made out to "Service League of Volunteers, Washington Hospital" are accepted in the Volunteer Services office.
Adult Fee:
Adult volunteers join the Service League and are charged yearly dues. First year dues will be collected at the orientation meeting. This minimal fee goes to fun events hosted by the Service League of Volunteers.
Health and Background Screening: - In order to provide the best care for our patients, all volunteers are screened and must complete medical requirements through our Employee Health Services (free of charge). Screenings may take up to two months to complete. Proof of immunization to rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and an annual tuberculin skin test are required. Volunteers who have any limitations are required to provide a doctor's statement of release, noting any restrictions.
Orientation - After submitting an application and completing the medical requirements, all accepted volunteers will be invited to a mandatory volunteer orientation in order to learn about the Hospital's mandatory safety program, policies and procedures. These are held as needed.
