Deep Venous Thrombosis

  • Category: InHealth

Deep venous thrombosis is a blood clot that forms in a vein deep inside a body part. Most often, this condition affects the legs. Obesity, sitting for long periods of time - such as traveling in a car or a plane - pregnancy or a recent major surgery may put people at risk for this dangerous health problem. A vascular surgeon will address the causes, symptoms, risk factors and treatments for the disorder.
