Dr. Albert V. Assali Scholarship

The Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation is the administrator of the Dr. Albert V. Assali Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a high school senior or college student who is pursuing higher education in the field of medicine. The scholarship aims to further the field of medicine by supporting the education of local pre-med track college students from the Tri-City Area. The scholarship is intended to continue the legacy of Dr. Albert V. Assali, his belief in the importance of education and his passion for the field of medicine.

Eligibility Criteria:
•A high school senior in the Tri-City Area OR college student currently enrolled in a U.S Accredited College
• Has declared a major in or has an interest in pre-med studies
• A resident in the Tri-City Area, or has immediate family with residency (Fremont, Union City, Newark)
• Demonstrates academic excellence with a cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.0 or above
• Actively involved in community service

Applicants for the scholarship must submit the application no later than Monday, July 29th at 5:00pm to be considered for academic year 2023-2024. Winners will be contacted by email by late August.
