Washington Hospital Healthcare System welcomes you to our beautiful corner
of the San Francisco Bay Area. For more than 60 years, the Washington
Township Health Care District has served the residents of Fremont, Newark,
Union City, unincorporated Sunol and the southernmost portion of Hayward.
Washington Hospital offers a host of special services including:
Washington Hospital has a wide range of primary care physicians and specialists
on its Medical Staff. There are more than 500 physicians on staff representing
a broad range of specialties. To contact one of these doctors, click on the
"Find My Physician" link for the most comprehensive listing of physicians in the Tri-City
Area. To meet your specific needs, you can search by name, specialty,
location, insurance and group. You can also call the Hospital's Health
Connection line at (800) 963-7070 to find a physician as well.
Emergency Care at Washington Hospital
Washington Hospital's Emergency Department is available to the community
24 hours a day and is staffed by highly skilled emergency medicine professionals.
The Emergency Department is located in the Morris Hyman Critical Care
Pavilion, and can be easily accessed directly from Civic Center Drive.
Free parking is available next to the Pavilion.
On-site services include a 64-Slice CT scanner and a 24-hour laboratory
to deliver fast and efficient emergency care. A separate area in the emergency
department provides rapid treatment for patients with minor injuries or
illness during the day and evening. If you require emergency medical attention,
please call
911 to access your local emergency services.
For people with emerging health care needs that are not life threatening,
Washington Township Health Care District also provides urgent care services
at four different clinics in the Tri-City Area. (Read the next section
for more details.)
Washington Urgent Care
Located across the street from Washington Hospital,
Washington Urgent Care in Fremont is a convenient and cost-effective alternative to emergency
room care. Washington Urgent Care is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days
a week, 365 days a year - to give you high-quality urgent care, whether
you have an appointment or not.
Washington Hospital Healthcare System is closely affiliated with three
family medical care and urgent care clinics in Warm Springs, Newark and
Union City that are operated by Washington Township Medical Foundation
(WTMF). These facilities offer a full range of primary care services for
children and adults.
Each clinic is staffed by board-certified physicians and our staff is well
versed in treating job-related health care needs. Each clinic offers urgent
care treatment if you have a minor emergency that needs immediate medical
attention. During office hours, in addition to appointments, we welcome
walk-in visits for urgent care. When the office is closed, there's
always a physician available on-call.
Whether you're at home or work, you can feel secure knowing excellent
medical care is there for you whenever and wherever you need it. That's

Poison Control
How can I be prepared for a poison emergency?
- Call your poison center at (800) 222-1222. The poison center can send you
telephone stickers or magnets with the emergency phone number. Post that
number on or near your telephones.
- If you have a poisoning emergency call (800) 222-1222.
What are the most common poisons for children?
- Cosmetics such as perfume or nail polish, and personal care products such
as deodorant and soap.
- Cleaning products (for example, laundry detergent and floor cleaners).
- Pain medicines (analgesics) such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
- Foreign bodies and toys including silica gel packages to remove moisture
in packaging and glow products.
- Topical preparations such as diaper rash products, hydrogen peroxide, acne
preparations, or calamine lotion.
Washington Hospital Health Insurance Information Service
The Washington Hospital Health Insurance Information Services is a free,
confidential service for community members and local employers with information
they need to make informed decisions about health insurance, including
how to purchase it. The service also provides information on Medicare
options for seniors and Medicare Part D enrollment. A Certified Application
Assistant is available to enroll qualified families in the Healthy Families
Program. Consultations are offered over the phone or in person.
