Radhika's Story
A nationally acclaimed medical center and a community hospital come together
for baby Radhika.
Washington Hospital and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are teaming
up to bring our community the very best health care.
Shilpi Chetry of Fremont experienced that personally while pregnant. Her
team at Washington Hospital determined that she was at risk for a premature
delivery, which turned out to be the case. She went into labor almost
two months early and delivered tiny baby Radhika at UCSF. Radhika spent
her first month in the UCSF Intensive Care Nursery, where she needed to
be tube-fed. When she was strong enough, she was transferred to the Washington
Special Care Nursery to be closer to her family. Within a few weeks, she
was eating on her own and able to go home. This new team of award-winning
hospitals came together for little Radhika, her mom Shilpi, and the whole
Chetry family.
