Jody became a volunteer in the fall of 2008, training in the surgery waiting room and front desk. Last year, she trained at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to become a baby cuddler in Washington’s Special Care Unit. Jody’s inspiration to volunteer sprang from her parents who volunteered for many years at their community hospital in Riverside, California.

"Years ago I decided to try my hand at serving on the League Board in an effort to learn more about the overall operation of the hospital and Service League" says Jody. "After doing so, I was quickly appointed as secretary of the Service League."

Jody Bell is the Director of Member Benefits for the California School Employees Association (CSEA), headquartered in San Jose. She has had a career with the CSEA for close to 40 years, starting as a secretary in CSEA’s Santa Anna field office in Southern California.

Jody currently lives in Fremont, California with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, traveling and exploring antique shops.
