The Sports Medicine Center

As more people in the Tri-City area participate in fitness activities and athletics, the need for a comprehensive sports injury treatment and prevention program continues to grow.

The sports medicine center is staffed with board-certified and fellowship trained physicians David Bell, M.D. and John Jaureguito, M.D., who serve as the center's medical directors. In addition, the center is staffed with physical therapists and athletic trainers who are experienced in helping injured athletes return to their favorite sport with minimal downtime.

The center's staff also helps patients learn how to prevent future injuries and find ways to improve current performance. The program works directly with the Washington Hospital clinics, outpatient surgery center, outpatient rehabilitation center, emergency room and other affiliates to provide a full range of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services.

Adult and weekend athletes aren't the only ones who need a program of this type. The center's sports medicine experts are collaborating with several area high schools and universities to give teams, coaches, and parents the guidance needed to treat young athletes, while teaching them about conditioning and injury prevention.

The sports medicine center fills a growing need in our sports community for high quality medical services. Athletes and physically active people can receive quality sports medicine care right here in southern Alameda County.  We're focused on getting local residents "back into the game."
