Washington Hospital's Institute for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery is committed to providing you with the latest technology to ensure the highest quality care. Many surgeries that were once done as open procedures with large, 6 to 12 inch incisions are now being performed by laparoscopy and with the use of robotics in the operating room. Incisions are often no more than the diameter of a pencil.

The Institute for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery strives to provide you with the surgery you need in a less invasive approach. The minimally invasive nature of the surgery promotes a faster recovery. And, because smaller incisions are used during surgery, patients experience less pain, tissue damage and trauma, less bleeding, less scarring, shorter hospital stay, and a faster return to work.

The Institute for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at Washington Hospital Healthcare System has developed a comprehensive course of treatment. We believe that you play a key role in your recovery. Our goal and commitment is to involve you in your treatment through each step of the program.

The Institute for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery can help patients with a variety of different conditions requiring surgery including:
