Washington Hospital Service League Scholarships

March 01, 2011

Student Scholarship Deadline Approaching

The deadline is fast approaching for a terrific student scholarship awarded each year by Washington Hospital’s Service League, the volunteer organization serving Washington Hospital.

Each year, the Service League awards two (2) scholarships to students in the Washington Township Health Care District - which encompasses Fremont, Newark, Union City, unincorporated Sunol and parts of south Hayward - who are pursuing careers in a health-related field.

Each $1,000 scholarship is renewable each year for four years if students remain in a health-related program in good standing, with a grade point average of 2.50 or higher. The scholarship is limited to four years of undergraduate or graduate schooling.

The Service League is pleased to announce that applications are available to pick up at the front desk in the lobby of Washington Hospital and in the Volunteer Services office, located in the Administrative Pavilion. Beginning this year, applications are also available on Washington Hospital’s Web site, www.whhs.com. The deadline to submit an application is April 1st.

For more information, contact Washington Hospital’s Volunteer Services department at (510) 791-3465.
