Wellness Classes

The Washington Wellness Center offers a variety of classes for community members to help relieve pain, reduce stress, promote strength, and improve overall wellness.

New students are eligible for a one-time, free trails class. Returning students can enjoy price savings with class packages.

Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.

Current Wellness Class Offerings

Tai Chi for Beginners

Gently energize yourself in the morning with tai chi. This class utilizes modified movements from the Yang and Chehn Tai Chi styles, as well as Southern Chinese martial arts. Tai chi relaxes the mind and improves circulation, flexibility, balance, coordination, and muscular endurance. This senior-friendly class is open to students of all ages and skill levels.

When: Mondays, 9 – 10 a.m.

Location: Wellness Center Conference Room*

Fee: $10 per class

"Keep It Moving" Exercise Program

Keep It Moving is a fun and high-energy group exercise class designed to help seniors and older adults maintain their cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility.

When: Mondays, 3 – 4 p.m.

Location: Wellness Center Conference Room*

Fee: $10 per class

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga supports the health of your joints, muscles, and circulation, no matter your fitness level. This class provides seated and standing yoga poses, stretching, breath-work and guided meditation to tone your body and maximize flexibility and balance. Chairs and the wall are used as props to individualize for your needs. Gentle Yoga is a class for every body - all levels are welcome.

When: Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Location: Wellness Center Conference Room*

Fee: $10 per class

Ladies' Choice Program

Ladies' Choice provides a total body workout for women of all ages. This class combines high-energy aerobics, strength and resistance training, and coordination and flexibility exercises that are heart-healthy and easy on your joints.

Please note: Ladies' Choice is for women only.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Location: Cardiac Rehab Gym, Suite 210 (Washington West, 2500 Mowry Ave., Fremont)

Fee: $5 per class

Yoga

A great class for new and returning yoga students. Yoga is a slow-paced, mindful practice incorporating breathing techniques to promote overall well-being and relaxation. This class covers the fundamentals of yoga poses with focus on strength, balance, and alignment. All levels are welcome.

When: Fridays, 12 – 1 p.m.

Location: Wellness Center Conference Room*

Fee: $10 per class
