This site describes new developments in diabetes including current research
and offers access to the ADA's information center and links to state
affiliates. It lists the organization's consumer and professional
publications, with articles from the current issue of
Diabetes Forecast as well as some from past issues.

This site provides current and understandable medical information for
diabetes and their families including an online slide show tutorial. It
also offers a drug database, links to a medical encyclopedia and dictionary,
and resource directories.
Diabetes Exercise & Sports Association
Information provided by this organization focuses on diabetes and the
role of exercise in enhancing health. It has a forum for exchange of information
and access to resources.
Diabetes Health Magazine

A monthly magazine that focuses on living well with diabetes, Diabetes
Health included information, resources, and products. Various articles
from current issues are available.
A comprehensive website with a free magazine distributed six times a year
which is reviewed by an editorial board of physicians and leading medical
associations for medical accuracy. Approved by the American Association
of Diabetes Educators. Available in English and Spanish.
This site offers diabetics inspiration, opportunity to ask an expert,
valuable offers and more. In addition, a community forum allows for reading
about and connecting with other members. With the proper software, it
is also possible to view recordings of
"dLife TV", a weekly program that airs at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT that focuses on diabetes
issues, health and wellness.
InHealth Channel 78, A Washington Hospital Channel
Produced by the caregivers at Washington Hospital, this cable broadcast
provides original health and safety programs on various topics including
diabetes and airs 24 hours a day, seven days a week on Comcast 78 in Fremont,
Newark and Union City. A weekly program schedule is available on the
InHealth webpage on the hospital web site, in the Tri City Voice and by calling Health
Connection at (800) 963-7070.
Joslin Diabetes Center
This center in Boston is an internationally known institution devoted
to the study and treatment of diabetes. It provides contact information
for Joslin satellite sites and affiliate centers, lists research studies
needing volunteers, and offers discussion groups moderated by a diabetes
educator and social worker. A special feature is a "Beginner's
Guide" for those newly diagnosed.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF)
The JDRF web site offers specific information about diabetes in children
as well as information about the not-for-profit voluntary agency's
activities, research, advocacy and publications. Highlights from the online
Countdown, the agency magazine, are also available.
This is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide services
to protect and save lives. Members provide critical health information
which, in an emergency situation, can be released to providers 24 hours
a day anywhere in the world. Also includes an online system for ordering
customized emblems (bracelets, neck chains) for the purpose of identifying
specific medical conditions and/or allergies of the wearer.
National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse
An information service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive
and Kidney Diseases. Part of the National Institute of Health, the Clearinghouse
provides information about diabetes, care, treatment and medical resources.
It includes an online system for ordering publications.
